Furniture
Casegood furniture includes any free-standing cabinetry that sits on the floor. I now offer semi-permanent furniture that is scribed to fit snugly in a corner and/or to a wall. By making the finished ends and counter a bit oversize, the cabinet can be moved and scribed to fit a new location.
Curved Face Nightstands
The exteriors are dyed Maple and the drawer boxes natural Birch. While not apparent in the images, the dye allows more of the wood grain to show through than stain would have. The color matches wood detailing on the bed frame. The curve of the face is subtle, but adds significant interest to what would otherwise be a fairly simple cabinet. The custom feet give the cabinet a solid/hefty feel.

Churchfield TV Cabinet
Lynda and Dennis wanted to be able to hide the TV and, when in use, make it viewable from the kitchen or dining room. The pocket doors are out of the way when the cabinet is open and an articulating arm allows the position and angle of the TV to be adjusted.
The cabinet is made from 1-7/8" thick torsion box panels veneered with quartersawn Makore (side view). The doors and drawer face are veneered with Birdseye Maple and Makore sketch faces. Only the drawer box/case and cabinet back were made from stock materials.

Lussier TV Cabinet
Joan and Deke wanted to keep their existing entertainment center cabinet. Their old TV was a to-the-floor projection TV. To accommodate their new LCD TV they needed a cabinet to fill the space underneath. Matching the existing cabinet, especially the doors, was an interesting challenge. There was nothing standard about the doors and the only way I could get a close match to the applied molding pattern of the existing doors was to custom make it using an assortment of cutters and multiple passes*. The center door panel is speaker cloth. The cabinet was made from Cherry colored with a custom dye. Push latches were used for opening the doors because no similar/matching pulls could be found. The original furniture toe-kick was reused. The dark color made this cabinet hard to photograph. The image of the cabinet installed is particularly bad.

Robinson TV Cabinet
A corner to doorway, 20" tall, TV cabinet with white interior and stained VG Fir exterior. The finished ends run to the floor and were made 1-1/2" thick to give the visual appearance of legs. The 'legs' allow a clean transition between the trim and cabinet (no notching the tall baseboard or funny little space at the doorway). Expanding on previous designs, the only surface fasteners (inside and out) are the two screws that mount the cabinet to the wall. All exterior pieces were scribed to fit the walls and floor (1/2" out of square and 1/2" from level) and were mounted with hardware that simplifies scribing/installation and any future removal (new carpet, refinishing, etc.). My preference would have been a shallower cabinet. I believe a small child motivated the depth.

Sixteen Drawer Cabinet
This is a small parts storage cabinet with a basic white interior and metal drawer sides. The white cabinet is covered with thick edged oak veneered finished ends (cabinet sides) and counter. To maintain continuity of grain on the face of the cabinet, the drawer faces were made with a single piece of oak veneered particleboard. All edges are covered with stock and custom made solid oak edging (1.5-2.5mm thick). The grain on the faces (R and L) and edges of the finished ends are book-matched (the same). The toe-kick is solid oak and scribed to the painted baseboard.

Computer Desk
It looks just like a traditional desk. The only indication that there is anything inside is a single power and network cable, the keyboard/mouse pullout and the vents on the back. I made this for myself as a sort of R&D project. In retrospect I'm not sure why I used Maple melamine instead of plywood.
This desk currently contains two computers, a laser printer, a KVM and a UPS. Being designed for maximum space utilization, there is almost as much drawer space as one would expect from a similarly sized traditional desk. There's a lateral file drawer and three regular drawers (1-small, 2-medium)... more
